Section 1 - Knowledge Development

Classroom Based

PADI’s Open Water Diver materials cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology, and safety procedures over 5 knowledge development sections. Students will need to study the core academics with a Scuba Diving Instructor who will guide you personally through the use of the PADI workbooks, DVD’s, and final exam. With many students preferring the more personal, easy learning experience with relaxed and fun presentations. This style of learning is available in many languages and can allow you to learn at a comfortable pace.


Home study – PADI E-Learning

PADI offers a great array of home-study materials for the PADI Open Water Diver course. With eLearning proving to be the most convenient option. The eLearning option allows you to work through the five knowledge development sections slowly at a pace that suits you, all from the comfort of your own home. When accessed online this provides you with a well-developed, friendly, and interactive learning experience available in many languages and tablet friendly formats. This can save you a day of precious holiday time. The course materials can be bought directly from PADI’s website or we can buy on your behalf. Section 2 - Confined Water Dives

Time to take your first breathes underwater! During the course, you will make five confined water training sessions. In a swimming pool, you will develop underwater skills that will build confidence and comfort, while learning primary skills, such as good breathing techniques, underwater positioning and buoyancy control. These sessions will also prepare you for the unlikely event that anything should happen underwater with simple emergency drills. You will learn how to assemble and use basic scuba diving equipment and your instructor will give you some expert advice on equipment cleaning, fit, and selection. Once you and your instructor feel that you are ready, it is time to head to the ocean!!

Section 3 - Open Water Dives

After the confined session you will complete four dives at local open water dive sites under the supervision of your PADI Instructor to review and develop your freshly gained underwater skills. It is also a great opportunity to take your chance to explore the exhilarating underwater realm we have to offer. Upon completion you will be certified to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18 meters. What are you waiting for?
