Advanced Open Water Course

Per Person

Section 1 - Knowledge Development

Unlike the PADI Open Water Diver course this academic section is not so time consuming or classroom based. This course is more about diving experiences and exploration! All you need to do is read and complete the relevant section for each dive you will be making and review the questions with your instructor.

The Open Water Adventure Dives

The excitement begins by choosing your Adventure dives with your instructor! There are two compulsory dives that will need to be completed, these include a Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation Dive.

You will then decide on your next three Adventure Dives which will make a total of 5 dives altogether over 2-3 days.

Diving Marine Like Sail Rock - Batfish

Compulsory Dives

Underwater Navigation

This dive is designed to increase your awareness of the underwater world, and teach you ways to use your underwater compass, elapsed time, and natural navigation techniques.

This will increase the effectiveness of planning a dive and avoid confusion and anxiety as you are navigating a dive site under unfamiliar conditions.

Deep Diving

With the Deep Dive you will cover the practical aspects of deep diving as well as the physiological affects you need to be aware of when making deeper dives.

Your PADI instructor will take time to run through equipment preparation and considerations required for deeper dives, which will be done at Sail Rock!

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Excellent buoyancy control is what defines skilled scuba divers. You’ve seen them underwater. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. They more easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings. You can achieve this, too.

In this dive we explain proper fin kicks, perfect trim and ways to be the best diver.
